Amazon says it is hiring for 3,000 new virtual customer service jobs in South Africa this year.

In a statement on Thursday (18 June), the company said that these roles will range from customer service associates to technical experts who will work virtually and provide 24/7 support to Amazon customers in North America and Europe.

The addition of 3,000 permanent and seasonal full-time positions will bring the total permanent workforce in South Africa to 7,000, it said.

“We are thrilled with the talent in South Africa and we are excited to add 3,000 skilled jobs this year in customer service, and to help keep people working during this unprecedented time,” said Andrew Raichlin, director of Amazon Customer Service in South Africa.

My client a global diversified company is looking for a Senior Internal Auditor – IT who will be based at the Head Office in Rosebank or Umhlanga Rocks to complete audit projects in accordance with professional audit standards.

Main responsibilities of the role are: (Reporting to: Audit Manager – IT)

• Conduct IT, Financial, and Operational audits of global, regional, and complex systems, and business processes.
• Determine and adapt the audit programme for audit projects, focussing on the key risk areas in accordance with relevant frameworks including ITIL, COBIT, and other related IT frameworks.
• Execute the audit steps, applying IT audit technical competencies including information gathering, documentation, evaluation, data analysis, and problem-solving skills.
• Report and present findings and recommendations to Management.
• Identify opportunities for improvement.
• Manage own audit project schedule, timelines and progress to complete assignments on time and within budget.
• Adhere to required professional ethics and standards including: the IIA Standards for the Professional Practice of Internal Auditing and ISACA standards and guidelines.

Key requirements

• Relevant Bachelors’ degree (Information technology, finance, risk etc.)
