A natural leader, the TSM will excel at organizing and delegating tasks, effectively managing a team of maintenance staff, and taking a hands-on approach to ensure efficient and high-quality maintenance and repairs. A key aspect of the role will involve up-skilling the team to reduce reliance on external contractors, fostering growth and self-sufficiency within the team. Key duties include -

Ensure that the teamโs KRAsโ, Organogram, Competency chat, learning module is in place;
For each employee - ensure that the employment contract in place to offer security to staff, the new employee is inducted to the companyโs vision, mission, values and beliefs, the new employee is inducted to the companyโs colleagues, staff village, and the company product, a clear job description is attached to the employment contract to provide clear direction to employed staff;
Regular assessments to help guide staff, Employ a process to promote innovation/creativeness, Fair pay process;
Leave schedules properly planned and aligned to other departments to ensure that service to camps is not compromised and that staff actually take the leave due to them each year;
Staff are presented well at all times, are accountable for uniforms;
Ensure that prompt, fair and timeous disciplinary measures are taken in the event of a problem;
Ensure TSM spends min 90% of time managing staff in the field & ongoing succession planning for all positions in your department, manage departmental staff outside of the work place and be responsible for their welfare at all times,

Align the maintenance standards and concept to the company brands and values;
Refine the standards and constantly expand on the maintenance program;
Carry out a planned preventative maintenance program for all plant, equipment and camp and concession buildings as established;
Maintain technical standards and quality control procedures in all areas of concession maintenance;
Maintain records, plans and drawings on all underground and aboveground services and infrastructure;
Ensure the correct procedures are followed in the ongoing functioning and maintaining of all concession generator plants;
Ensure the correct procedures are adhered to by staff and guests with regards to the sewage plant;
Ensure the mechanical and electrical functioning of camp borehole pumps on request of GM/ CMs;
Manage the conservative usage of the concessions water resources;
Manage the conservative usage of the concession's energy resources and ensure energy saving initiatives are implemented;
Maintain correct monitoring of all water and energy usage as per set standards;
Maintain all concession vehicles including game drive vehicles, camp utilities and heavy duty vehicles in accordance with maintenance programs;
Maintain all boats and associated equipment in accordance with maintenance programs;
Maintain concession and camp fire fighting bowsers, pumps and equipment;
Maintain the concessions road network to an acceptable guest comfort level and as defined by maintenance standards;
Maintain the concessions airstrips to an acceptable guest comfort level and as defined by maintenance standards;
Ensure proper planning with operational management to minimize impact on guests during maintenance programs.
