Stats don’t lie! Don’t risk missing out on life-changing employment opportunities by being unprepared.
In my current role, I interview candidates fairly often and can confirm that someone being unprepared for the interview automatically sends them to my “NO” pile. It’s very hard for them to come back from that.

One of the most common mistakes I’ve seen candidates make during interviews is to have no questions for me once I finish interviewing them.
Asking questions show in-depth interest in the opportunity and a desire to learn more about it. When done properly, this seemingly small action can score you major brownie points.
Make sure you take the time to think up questions that have substance to them. Ask about the company culture, values, current departmental pain points, personal experience, etc.

One of the most important parts of growing in your career is understanding the importance of building leaders that can replace you as opportunities for growth come up.
So many people question this mentality because they mistakenly believe they need to make themselves irreplaceable, as opposed to actively teaching others what they know and mentoring future leaders that can grow with them.

To all the moms hanging on by a thread, trying to balance working full-time with schooling full-time, hoping that your kids AND YOUR EMPLOYER will understand that you are doing your best and that none of this is NORMAL... we understand you, we ARE you.
These are complicated times that require patience and grace. You are not homeschooling, you are schooling in the middle of a crisis.
You didn’t prep for this months in advance, you didn’t plan on having everything fall on you overnight.
Take a breath, set realistic expectations and boundaries where necessary. Speak with teachers, bosses, coworkers. Find ways to make it work to the best of your ability. Learn to be okay with not crossing off that checklist every day.
This will end soon. Don’t sacrifice your mental health - or your children’s mental health - in the name of trying to keep up. None of us have a manual for this, so it’s important now more than ever for us to trust our mama instincts and advocate for what we feel will protect our families not just physically, but emotionally too. 💫
