Strong candidates often undersell this. In your next interview, be ready to speak to:

✅ Your TRIR or safety metrics on past projects, if you track them
✅ How you've handled a near-miss or safety concern in real time
✅ How you build a safety-first culture with your crews, not just enforce rules

Contractors are increasingly evaluating leadership candidates on safety culture, not just schedule and budget performance.

From assistant super to running the job himself. 📈

John spent 15 years working in concrete construction, starting as a form carpenter, foreman, and Assistant Superintendent. We placed him in his first lead superintendent role — on a project bigger than anything he'd run solo before.

Try these:

✅ “What does success look like in this role after 90 days?”
✅ “How does leadership handle schedule setbacks?”
✅ “What's the career path from this position?”
✅ “How do you see the construction economy for your market sector – over the next couple of years?”

The right questions do double duty: they show you're serious, and they help you find out if the company is actually the right fit for you.
