Wellesley College Biology and Biochemistry Club Wellesley’s Biology and Biochemistry Club, (BC)^2, was founded to foster a stronger community with We hope to achieve this in four main ways:

1.

Wellesley’s Biological Chemistry and Biology Club, (BC)^2, was founded in 2012 with the goal of fostering a stronger community within the biological chemistry and biology departments. Establish a supportive network among the students of Wellesley College.
2. Serve as a forum in which students may meet and interact with faculty who research in the areas of biological chemistry and biology.
3. Impro

ve and cultivate interest in biological chemistry and biology in the Wellesley College community through programmed events.
4. Become involved in the scientific community of the greater Boston area and the United States of America. Each year, we host a variety of formal and informal events geared towards promoting conversations between students and professors, such as our lunch series and dessert series lectures. Additionally, we bring in professionals each year at the top of their fields to promote awareness of the diversity of careers available to STEM majors. We also host scavenger hunts, study breaks, and end-of-semester celebrations so that students could get to know each other better.

To the Wellesley College community,

As the members of (BC)^2, we do not stand for the murders of George Floyd, Breonna Taylor, Tony McDade, Ahmaud Arbery, or the countless other lives lost at the hands of police brutality. We stand firmly alongside the Black community at Wellesley and beyond to condemn the systemic racism that underlies our judicial system. We call upon ourselves and the greater Wellesley community to take action against the injustices that continue to occur against Black people, through committing to advocate for the rights and safety of Black people, educating ourselves and others on true allyship, and donating to organizations that support the Black Lives Matter movement.

As part of this commitment, we would like to offer our services in exchange for proof of donation to any organization that supports efforts towards ending police brutality or makes reparations to those who have been affected. As a group that consists of Biology, Biochemistry, and pre-med students, we are willing to help you in any way you see fit, such as major/schedule advising, pre-med counselling, resume/application revisions, finding remote summer opportunities, etc. Please feel free to submit donation receipts and service requests here: https://forms.gle/ewnwbcRJK1KvFJ2E7 or reach out directly through our social media platforms, or email.
