🐾 We know many of you have been following Walker's story closely, and we wanted to share an update on the ongoing efforts to safely bring him home.

🚨 06.12.2026 6:27 AM Walker Update 🚨

Thermal drone teams maintained visual contact with Walker throughout the night until the recovery team was able to arrive on scene around 5:00 a.m. Walker is alert and ambulatory.

A recovery attempt is currently underway.

At this time, we are asking everyone to please stay out of the search area and do not attempt to assist on your own. If additional help is needed, we will post specific requests here. Please do not follow directions from anyone other than our team or the government agencies directly involved in this search effort.

Keeping the area clear gives Walker the best chance of a safe recovery and allows trained personnel to work efficiently.

Thank you all for your continued support, patience, and cooperation. πŸ’œ

🚧 Update: The Chatham Avenue Crossover is Open! 🚧

Good news, Tybee! The Chatham Avenue crossover construction project has been completed and the crossover is now open for public use.

These improvements were made to enhance safety and accessibility for residents and visitors traveling between the beach and surrounding areas. Thank you for your patience during construction as we worked to make this important beach access point safer and more user-friendly.

We appreciate everyone’s cooperation throughout the project and hope you enjoy the improved crossover this summer! β˜€οΈπŸ–οΈ

βš–οΈ Celebrating 35 Years of Service βš–οΈ

Following the June 2, 2026 Municipal Court session, the Tybee Island Municipal Court surprised our honorable Judge, Steven Scheer, with a special celebration recognizing his 35 years of dedicated service to the City of Tybee Island.

Judge Scheer was truly overwhelmed by the outpouring of appreciation, support, and love from colleagues, friends, and family who gathered to honor his remarkable career and lasting impact on our community.

As his wife, Anne, shared, β€œPlease know that you pulled something off that has not been done very often, if at all… you totally surprised Judge Scheer.”

The Municipal Court would also like to extend sincere thanks to the Tybee Island Police Department for their assistance in coordinating the event and helping keep the celebration a secret, making the surprise even more meaningful.

For the past 35 years, Judge Scheer has served our community with unwavering dedication, professionalism, and integrity. His commitment to maintaining the dignity of the court and upholding the rule of law has helped foster public trust in our judicial system and has left a lasting legacy on Tybee Island.

Please join us in thanking Judge Scheer for his extraordinary service and congratulating him on this incredible milestone. πŸ‘
