Annual Tybee Salutes Heroes to Honor Military Families occurs in November. TYBEE ISLAND, Ga. – Tybee Island, Georgia, a quaint beach town located just 20 minutes east of historic downtown Savannah, and the American Legion Tybee Post #154 will host its 2nd Annual Tybee Salutes Heroes event the weekend following Veterans Day,
Active and former military personnel are invited to bring their families

to Tybee for a weekend of quality time together at the beach. Weekend highlights include family-friendly events at the American Legion and the Tybee Salutes Heroes Parade. Event organizers encourage visitors and the community to come out for the parade and show their support for our military. Following the parade, a ceremony will be held at the Veterans Memorial in Memorial Park. Various Tybee accommodations are offering special rates for the weekend. In addition to accommodations, several island restaurants, shops and attractions are also offering special discounts for military families. Simply ask for the “Military Discount” when shopping

This is how we feel when Tybee Salutes Heroes! We know while we are here in our little hamlet at the edge of the sea we are safe and enjoying life on a barrier island. We also know there are many, many heroes stationed far, far away and around the world and in harm's way to protect us and our American way of life.
