We’re looking for an Accounts Receivable Staff Accountant (AR Staff Accountant) who will manage membership receivables, reconciliations, and communications. The AR Staff Accountant is vitally important to our business success by offering a seamless membership billing experience. The AR Staff Accountant will work closely with the Assistant Controller and the CFO to complete a timely month end closure process. Additional job responsibilities, but not limited to, include preparing deposits, monitoring deferred revenue accounts, ensuring appropriate sales taxes are paid, bank reconciliations, journal entries, and managing all billings and payments for our Foundation’s annual events. ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
Accounts Receivable
Manage membership receivables and send monthly member statements by the 4th business day of each month
Send other member communications and uphold collection procedures; prepare outgoing letters and certified mail
Bill, reconcile and recognize member dues/assessments for two companies
Answer member phone calls and emails and resolve member account issues
Post ACH and credit card settlements to member accounts and review ETS for any chargebacks
Post payments to member’s accounts for two companies
Review wires from real estate closings and post transactions related to closing
Post House Watch and Plus One services to homeowner’s account and reconcile all billing
Post transponder charge to homeowner’s account
Post month write offs from in-house accounts
General Accounting
Assist CFO with preparing timely month-end close by preparing account reconciliations and balancing of subsidiary ledgers to GL accounts
Complete month-end checklist and associated journal entries
Ensure appropriate sales taxes are paid timely. Prepare monthly and quarterly tax returns for accuracy
Manage bank balances and reconcile the check register to make sure adequate cash is in each account
Perform bank reconciliations
Send yearend 1099B statements to resigned Golf members
Record contributions for the Foundation
Maintain and reconcile Martis Camp Foundations donations
Collaborate with MCF Executive Director to manage all billings and payments for annual events
Administrative
Assist with distributing mail to the appropriate department manager
All other projects as assigned to assist in meeting the goals of the Club
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS QUALIFICATIONS:
Ability to interact and develop positive relationships within the organization
Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software
Maintain high ethical and moral standards

Excellent interpersonal and guest service skills
Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
Strong analytical and critical thinking skills

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, CERTIFICATIONS, AND LICENSES:
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Accounting, or related field and minimum of 2 years’ experience or minimum of 3+ years’ experience in a relatable accounting position
High proficiency with Microsoft Office for Windows (Outlook, Word and Excel)
Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to adjust and interact with all levels of Ambassadors, Managers, and Members
Good work ethic and strong communication skills
Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
Ability to work at a high level with a highly efficient team
Knowledge of/experience with Jonas Club Management software
Prior experience working within property or club environment
Worked in non-profit accounting environment
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Ability to lift 15 lbs.
Ability to communicate effectively in a collaborative work environment utilizing various technologies such as telephone, computer, web, voice, teleconferencing, e-mail, etc.
Flexibility to work outside the normal business workweek as needed in office environment
CONFIDENTIALITY:
In your role, you will be privy to and included in discussions containing sensitive and/or confidential information. You may also participate in decision-making conversations due to that knowledge. All matters shared with you by the Chief Operating Officer, General Manager, Chief Financial Officer, or by a Board Member shall be considered “club business and matters.” You may be required to attend Club meetings or other meetings with the COO, CFO, and/or GM where you again may be privy to sensitive and/or confidential information and communications. Due to the unique nature of the Club, the Club’s Board of Directors, the CCO, the GM, the Club’s members, the “club business and matters”, and the Club in general; all have a high expectation of privacy, and the terms of this Agreement are intended to preserve and protect such expectation of privacy.
Members, Guests, Ambassadors, and other clients of the Club deserve the utmost privacy and confidentiality. No Ambassador will disclose in conversation, via social media or electronic messaging, or any other form of written or oral communication, the usage of the Club, or any information about the membership roster of Martis Camp. No Ambassador should ask for photos or autographs.
No conversation should occur, nor should any questions be answered to any media representative or other person regarding the above-listed items unless asked to do so by the COO or GM. All such requests are to be referred to the office of the GM for response or permission to respond.
Anything pertaining to “club business and matters” or any other items listed above shall be kept strictly confidential. Any violation of the terms of this Agreement shall be grounds for immediate cancellation of any employment relationship (regardless of the terms of any employment agreement, if any). The Club also reserves the right to pursue any legal remedies available to it in connection with a breach of this Agreement.
This Confidentiality Agreement remains in effect before, during, and after your employment with Martis Camp Club.
WAGE RANGE: $30-$34 per hour
*Martis Camp maintains a drug-free workplace. The successful completion of a pre-employment drug screen is required.
