OK, so there are bad apples in every industry, including recruitment. In a recent article, I read a detailed list of the top reasons why candidates donβt like working with recruiters. They included:
π Advertising jobs that donβt exist.
π Calling candidates at work.
π Contacting candidates about jobs theyβre not remotely suited for.
π Misrepresenting jobs.
π Scheduling phone interviews and then not calling.
π Calling for unscheduled phone interview and expecting the candidate to drop everything to talk.
π Changing candidatesβ resumes without their permission.
π Acting excited about a candidate but then dropping out of contact.
Are we perfect, no. But we at Patrice & Associates work very hard in the best interests of our clients and candidates ALWAYS. πΌπ Most of us have not spent our careers solely as recruiters β we come from various industries and have spent many years being the candidate, the interviewee, the person avoiding recruiters. π΅οΈββοΈ Speaking from a recruiter standpoint now, I see clearly what an amazing service recruiters provide in bringing unposted jobs directly to candidates, counseling, preparing effective resumes, getting talent in front of hiring managers β ahead of the resumes sent in from job boards, scheduling interviews, and providing support throughout the process, setting clear expectations, working through salary negotiations. πͺ Our number one goal is to find the best person for their best job. No games; no ploys. π
π» Itβs that simple. π―
