SUMMITVILLE TILES "AT THE WHITE HOUSE" ~ HOW FITTING!

DID YOU KNOW that all of the flat roof surfaces of the White House are covered with Summitville Tiles' red quarry tile, in size 6 x 9 x 3/4?

The attached photos show the roofs of the White House with a red hue ~ well that red color you see is in the color of Summitville's iron-enriched shale, mined in Columbiana County, Ohio for more than 100 years.

When its the best that you want, look no further than to Summitville Tiles ~ good enuf for the White House, good enuf for your house and mine!

MICHAEL COGLEY PASSES AWAY ~ 48 YEARS WITH SUMMITVILLE TILES

May he R.I.P.
After a lengthy medical struggle following a debilitating stroke, we have received word from his family that Michael Cogley has passed away. May he Rest In Peace.

Michael had devoted 48 years of his life to Summitville Tiles, first at the Summitville Plant and then at the Minerva Plant. He was liked by everybody in the Company, always calm, always reliable, always willing to lend a helping hand . . . always a friend.

It saddens us to think that one could have worked so diligently for almost fifty years . . . with a single employer . . . hardly missing a day's work . . . never able to enter into the retirement he so richly deserved.

Our only consolation is that he is now most assuredly in Heaven.

Prayers go out to Michael's family. Please know that everyone at Summitville considered him as a member of "our' family.

Godspeed, Michael, until we meet again.

On behalf of us all at Summitville,
Dave & Bruce Johnson

UPDATE ON MIKE COGLEY

I stopped by to see Michael Cogley the other day at the Salem nursing home where he is a patient, a victim of stroke ~ the nurse said he had been awake earlier in day but had remained pretty well fast asleep for most of the day. As I sat with him, he was deep asleep.

I asked Mike if he could hear me. I don't think he could. I nonetheless presented Mike with his much deserved Summitville retirement clock, with the engraved brass plate commemorating his 48 years of service to the Company.

I thanked Mike on behalf of everybody at Summitville Tiles for his FIVE DECADES of dedicated service . . . where he had a reputation of being such a good and kind and well thought of person, just like his father before him, Norman, who had also worked at Summitville Tiles for decades.

Before I left Mike's bedside, I recited the Lords's Prayer aloud, just hoping that maybe Mike might hear it.

I continue to include Mike in my daily prayers.

OUR ANNUAL EMPLOYEE THANKSGIVING LUNCHEON

A THANKSGIVING TRADITION
In keeping with longstanding tradition, today we hosted a Thanksgiving luncheon for all of the employees of Summitville Tiles, complete with slow roasted turkey, mashed potatoes & gravy, seasoned stuffing, green beans . . . and chocolate chop cookies for all! This feast was catered by the Spread Eagle Tavern.

A TURKEY FOR ALL
Today, we also distributed a Thanksgiving Turkey for each employee so that everybody working at Summitville Tiles, A General Shale Brand, might have a wonderful Thanksgiving Day feast with their family.

OUR THANKS
In this Thanksgiving season, we are ever thankful for the dedicated, hard-working employees of Summitville Tiles . . and thankful, as well, to General Shale (and parent company Wienerberger!), for their strong support of the Summitville enterprise and its people. We have much for which to be grateful.
