Chesapeake Business Advisory Panel Working to cultivate a thriving business environment expanding the revenue base, create more employment opportunities and enhance overall quality of life.

Founded in 2011 by Chesapeake City Council Member Scott Matheson, the Chesapeake Business Advisory Panel (BAP) is a unique and collaborative forum that brings together business leaders with City Staff. Our goal is to elevate Chesapeake to being one of the “most business friendly” cities in the region, state and even the country. Using a team effort approach, BAP members share ideas and provide fee

dback and have helped to improve policies, processes and systems—making Chesapeake more effective—and thereby more competitive. BAP works to cultivate a thriving business community in order expand the revenue base, create more employment and entrepreneurial opportunities and provide an overall enhanced quality of life for our citizens.
