Kicking Off the 2026 Groundfish Survey Season!

We’re proud to announce that United States Seafoods is once again partnering with the Alaska Fisheries Science Center, the research branch of NOAA Fisheries/Alaska Region, for this year’s groundfish surveys. These annual science charters play a critical role in fisheries management by collecting the stock assessment data that helps set sustainable catch quotas in Alaska’s world-class fisheries.

⚓ The Alaska Knight, captained by John Nelson, will lead the Eastern Bering Sea groundfish survey. This mission will run from late May through mid August.

⚓ The Alaska Provider, captained by Arthur McArdle, will handle the Aleutian Islands survey. This project also starts late May and wraps up in early August.

USS began its science charter work in 2010, and we’re proud to continue playing a key role in the science that supports sustainable, well-managed fisheries.

Here’s to a safe, productive, and impactful survey season! 🧭🐟
