Delivering an “Energy Efficiency Knock-Out” (EEKO) to energy waste, the Salem EEKO Team is a partnership between the City of Salem, homeowners/renters, energy efficiency professionals, and community volunteers. Tackling one home at a time in what is called a “Barn Raising” event (named to conjure up the spirit of communities coming together to construct a barn in a single day) the team assesses en
ergy leaks, recommends solutions, and makes improvements that will start saving energy immediately. Volunteers gain valuable skills that can be applied to their own home improvement projects or to careers in energy efficiency. Homeowners and residents gain knowledge and practical improvements to their homes that will save money, keep their homes warmer in the winter, and reduce their environmental impact. If you’d like to
