Before them lies a gap, a rather ambiguous rite of passage separating them from adulthood. This divide is characterized by new levels of academics, employment and relationships. Of their own agency, they can imagine all manner of avenues to pass over. Most of these methods, howeve
r, will ultimately lead to their isolation. Without help; they’ll help themselves. And they inevitably bridge the gap; their bridge characterized by mistakes, failures and loneliness. But what if we could attempt to traverse this gap together? The General Youth Division’s Hyphen ministry is an effort to facilitate a successful transition into adulthood. The vision of the Florida District, regarding this Hyphen generation, is to unify, make aware and inspire the young adults that are simply trying to get from one place to another. Hyphen aims to identify and illuminate relevant issues to this age group, while creating an environment that will show the young adult that he is not alone in his venture.
