12/25/2020
2020 has been tough for everyone. Certainly, there will be few family gatherings. That's very tough for us. Normally, Filipinos celebrate Christmas by gathering with friends and family on the night of the 24th. They share a meal at about 10 p.m. mainly consisting of lechon and pasta accompanied by a potato salad, rice and gravy.
Sadly, this is a different year, and although we will all do our best to keep our traditional celebration, health concerns will prevent us from doing certain things, like inviting friends of the community to our party.
And so, 2020 remains to be difficult for everyone, full of limitations, challenges and lessons to be learned. This include the importance of hygiene or the value of closeness to friends and family. This year and this Christmas season will continue to be difficult. Yet, once again we have reacted in a positive way one would expect. At the end of this troublesome year, we can all decide to be thankful for it and cheer us up. The support we get reminds us of the meaning of Christmas, of the things that matter in life and the bond that we have.
May the spirit of this holiday season be with you and your family. 🌲💗
