Today the Novi Police & Fire Benevolent Association made a very generous $6000 donation to the Wayne State School of Medicine to help off set the costs of their Mobile First Responder COVID-19 Testing Program. Pictured with a replica check are Novi Fire Chief Jeff Johnson (left) and Novi Police Chief David Molloy (right).
Wayne State was the first to begin priority testing of First Responders on March 20th. They have tested over 3700 First Responders. With the donation of 7 vans from Ford Motor Company they have begun a mobile testing program open to agencies throughout the state. There is no charge and results are returned within 24 hours.
The Michigan Sheriffs' Association, the Michigan Fire Chiefs Association, and the Michigan Association of Chiefs of Police have begun a fund raiser to help offset the costs Wayne State is incurring.
