The Project Accountant has the responsibility for performing the job accounting functions and acts as the Accounting's liaison between the company's Project Management and external parties to ensure the timely and accurate completion of assigned jobs in accordance with accounting and industry standards, contractual obligations, and legal/government regulations.

Required experience:

2 years minimum experience is needed

Bachelor's degree in Accounting or equivalent experience

Responsibilities:

• Ensure the accurate set-up and maintenance of assigned job records in the job ledger system

• Communicate with project managers, vendors/subs, and other parties to manage job transactions, issue/resolution, and draw requirements

• Review, approve and ensure proper coding of subcontractor/vendor invoices for assigned jobs

• Communicate with external parties to timely manage job funding, a collection of lien waivers, subcontractor payments, and respond promptly to job inquiries

Required experience:

• 2 years minimum Project Accounting experience in the construction industry

• Timberline Accounting software experience is a BIG plus

G.A. Johnson & Son is currently seeking a seasoned Construction Estimator for our Evanston, IL location. The Construction Estimator will estimate, budget, and bid projects.

DUTIES INCLUDE:

• Preparation of complete cost estimates (labor and material) for projects.

• Fluent in Timberline (or similar) for take offs and cost estimation.

• Close coordination with Procurement and Project Management for project hand off when awarded.

• Preparation of Bills of Material and other information for use by Purchasing.

• Schedule and attend field walk-throughs with construction/ engineering personnel to understand and determine constructability requirements.

• Compare various project documents for accuracy and consistency as well as data entry

• This position will be based in Evanston and will work with projects within the State and neighboring States. Minimal travel may be required.

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

• 10+ years of experience estimating new construction, maintenance and any other projects is required.

• Able to read and understand civil, architectural, structural, mechanical, etc. plans and specifications to include blue prints, proposals and other documents.

• Computer literate and proficient with software such as Microsoft Office applications (ie., Word, Excel, Outlook, etc), Dropbox, FTP sites, etc.

• Degree in Construction or related field desirable but not essential.

• Excellent analytical, organizational, verbal, written, and communication skills.

• Team player and able to work with various partners, including some high profile, from start to finish

• Able to wear various hats in the process and stay focused with a full bid calendar.

Job Duties
• Greet and welcome incoming patients
• Perform examination diagnostic testing
• Train patients how to use their contact lenses
• Performing testing such as Oculus dry eye testing, visual fields and OCT

Qualifications
