As if HR didn't have enough to do, now you can prepare to go back an edit 2017 and 2018 EEO-1 Data...Here's the information from the EEOC posted on their website:

Notice of Immediate Reinstatement of Revised EEO-1:
Pay Data Collection for Calendar Years 2017 and 2018
EEO-1 filers should begin preparing to submit Component 2 data for calendar year 2017, in addition to data for calendar year 2018, by September 30, 2019, in light of the court's recent decision in National Women's Law Center, et al., v. Office of Management and Budget, et al., Civil Action No. 17-cv-2458 (D.D.C.). The EEOC expects to begin collecting EEO-1 Component 2 data for calendar years 2017 and 2018 in mid-July, 2019, and will notify filers of the precise date the survey will open as soon as it is available.

On May 3, 2019, the Department of Justice filed a Notice of Appeal in National Women's Law Center. The filing of this Notice of Appeal does not stay the district court orders or alter EEO-1 filers' obligations to submit Component 2 data. EEO-1 filers should begin preparing to submit Component 2 data as described above.

Filers should continue to use the currently open EEO-1 portal to submit Component 1 data from 2018 by May 31, 2019.

Reminder: OSHA 300A Forms Must Be Posted by February 1
The Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) mandates that all employers with more than 10 employees—except those in exempt low-risk industries—maintain a record of work-related injuries and illnesses. Those who are required to maintain these records should use OSHA’s Form 300: Log of Work-Related Injuries and Illnesses or an equivalent state-specific form.

Those same employers must then post OSHA’s Form 300A: Summary of Work-Related Injuries and Illnesses each year between February 1 and April 30. As its name implies, Form 300A summarizes (and sanitizes) the information logged on Form 300.

OSHA Form 300A must be certified by a company executive and posted in a conspicuous location where notices to employees are customarily posted. The notice must be posted even if there were no workplace-related injuries or illnesses.

The OSHA Form 300 and 300A, as well as detailed instructions, can be found by searching for OSHA Form 300 in the HR Support Center and selecting “OSHA Form 300, 300A, 301, and Instructions” from the Forms tab.

A full list of the industries exempt from OSHA recordkeeping requirements can be found by searching OSHA Fact Sheet in the HR Support Center and selecting “OSHA Fact Sheet: Reporting and Recordkeeping Rule and Partially Exempt Industries List” from the Guides tab.

In addition to these internal recordkeeping requirements, certain employers with 20 or more employees must submit their OSHA 300A form online by July 1.

Unconscious bias...does your company have a highly engaged employee flight risk? Do you make judgements regarding an employees qualifications, work ethic, etc. based on biases such as their age, s*x, skills, mindsets, attitude, and experience. Women don't always take credit for their work, older men may not want to sponsor a younger female worker because they fear the perception they are having an affair. Women tend to let life events that they must typically handle (birth of child or caring for an elderly parent) derail their career.

What are your thoughts and experiences in the workplace? Does your company have bias interuptors in place such as creating clear promotional paths or minimum applicant pool requirements?
