But hiring their confidential information with them can be a very expensive one.

That makes it a useful case study for any fintech business recruiting from direct competitors, particularly in niche markets where candidates often know the same clients, products, pricing structures and buying cycles.

The key distinction is simple:
✅ Hire the talent.
✅ Hire the experience.
✅ Hire the relationships.
✅ Hire the market knowledge.

But don’t hire the former employer’s:
❌ files, CRM data, pricing intelligence, renewal schedules or trade secrets.
