Tonight in NYC!! Come see Thana Alexa at the Jazz Gallery as she previews songs from her upcoming 2027 album of duets featuring an all-star cast! Thana is a Grammy nominated jazz vocalist, composer, arranger, and producer whose music pushes boundaries from jazz, global and electronic soundscapes. Alexa uses the full sonic palette of her voice as an arranging tool with every sound beyond each special guest’s instrument…beatbox and rhythmic layers, bass lines, harmonic beds, ambient textures, even nature-inspired sounds…created exclusively with her voice to give songs an entirely new identity. This album is an incredible artistic achievement and we can't wait for you to hear it!

Alejandra Sofia- keys / voice

Great road trip with Evan Marks heading north up Highway 1 to SFJAZZ to see the finale on the "We Want Miles" Tour Reunion. Marcus Miller, Mike Stern, John Beasley, Russell Gunn, Bill Evans, Anwar Marshall, and Mino Cinelu were all in fine form delivering a range of material from the Tutu, Amandla, Bi***es Brew, In A Silent Way, and We Want Miles albums. It was a real treat to bring along my wingman, guitarist, Evan Marks for the festivities. (We made two excellent albums at Verve Records, and he is currently putting together the new Fattburger band with debut upcoming performances at the Catalina JazzTrax Festival this October.) Driving roundtrip to San Francisco from Los Angeles via Hearst Castle, Big Sur, Monterey, and Carmel was a gas with perfect weather, and the often treacherous Highway 1 was open from end to end with minimal delays.
