Here's what most staffing companies won't say out loud: a lot of recruiters are trying to fill seats.

We're trying to make matches.

The difference isn't semantic. Filling a seat is a transaction. Making a match is a relationship — between a candidate whose story we actually know and a company whose culture, pace, and real needs we actually understand.
That takes longer. It takes phone calls. It takes reading between the lines of a resume AND a job description. It takes saying 'this isn't the right fit' — sometimes to a candidate, sometimes to a client.
