We are currently working with STARR Commonwealth they are seeking inpatient coverage ASAP. Starr Commonwealth was founded in 1913 as a home for runaway boys and since has evolved to providing community-based programming, education, and behavioral health services for children. “When asked by our federal government if they could help and provide a safe refuge and haven for those children, they enthusiastically said yes,” Starr Commonwealth CEO Elizabeth Carey said in a statement. “It matches our mission perfectly, and we are excited to be able to create a place for healing for some of those children.” Starr Commonwealth signed a facilities agreement to allow the Administration for Children and Families to use its 350-acre campus for up to 240 unaccompanied migrant children. It has 17 cottages that can house the children and caregivers, and its campus includes a gym, cafeteria, school building, chapel, ball field, track, and lakeside park. Each cottage is set up for two or three children in a bedroom, a kitchen, dining room, and rec room, as well as multiple bathrooms and showers. Before arriving at Starr Commonwealth, the children were tested for COVID-19, and they will be tested every three days while on campus.
