Borrowed this beautiful image from 🥰💔😢 We are all in a collective trauma right now, some losing homes, knowing someone who lost a home, some still packed incase of an evacuation, and some feeling the affects of survivors guilt. There are those who have been called into action volunteering, leading volunteer efforts, organizing spreadsheets with useful information, some fighting for human rights researching the landlords who are hiking up rents illegally, some are fostering animals displaced or housing people so they don't have to sleep in their car, some people are still auditioning and finding it hard to get through taping a slate, some of us are still casting or producing trying to keep the film economy going. And some people needed to leave town and thats okay too. But we all feel torn. We all probably want to be everywhere at once helping how we can. We are all also in our fight, flight, freeze, fawn survival mechanisms. Both Robin and I have worked with an amazing somatic therapist who we both have learned so much from about ourselves, our stressors and our strengths. Follow .mora for tips on how to take care of your nervous systems during this time of crisis and beyond. Breath. Regulate and just do what you can. You cannot poor from an empty cup. So please take care of yourselves. Please do not feel guilty if you need to leave town to keep your lungs healthy or if you can't volunteer because you need to work. It's also an opportunity to get to know yourself and how to use your trauma responses as strengths in a healthy way. If you are a fighter - you are probably best served as boots on the ground fighting for human rights, volunteering and staying active. If you are a fleer you can probably best serve by taking space and solace somewhere you feel safe and reposting helpful information for people on social media, if you are a fawner you might do well fostering animals, volunteering at shelters and hugging, feeding, listening to people with your love and support, if you are a freezer stay home, journal your thoughts and feelings, donate, repost peoples gofundmes, and check on friends. We are in this together! We 💙 LA
