Sometimes the best ideas come from asking “what if we pushed this a little further?”
I was going through older work and ended up pulling all of these together. They span a LOT of years, and they’re definitely louder than most of the skincare and product work I shoot now, but I still love how much we got to play in these images.
Not every shoot needs to be crazy or completely unexpected. But I do think there’s something to be said for giving yourself enough room to try the idea that feels a little weird, a little too much, or maybe wasn’t even part of the original plan.
Sometimes it works, sometimes it absolutely does not 😂 But when it does, it’s usually the image you remember.
I think that’s something I want to keep pushing myself to do more of, especially as everything starts to look more and more polished and perfect: make the shots we know we need, but always leave a little room to play.
Because you never know when the “let’s just try it” shot ends up being the best one.
