Doctors today are working much longer hours and every few months there are more rules, more protocols, more paperwork hence the time they are not working is also somehow spent working.
How do you make time for personal branding?
It starts with a very honest self-audit of how and where major time chunks go. This is not easy but this is extremely important.
You need a team, outsource the tasks that consume your time or send you into procrastination mode.
Hiring someone to join your small team is a serious relationship. You have to take time to find the right fit. Always say that you’re hiring, it’s a slow process and you never know when someone decides to move on and you need to fill a spot.
Job descriptions cannot be the industry standard or generic kind. You want front office to create reports, take pictures, check google listing everyday, invite patients to leave reviews — write it down, make it part of the job contract and checklists, make it a living document and keep tweaking it.
We ask needless questions everyday to our family members, co-workers which all come in the category of “just making sure”. Developing a system of reporting saves you so much time in the long run and peace of mind is the bonus. Disasters happen, things break, people forget but that doesn’t mean that we nag and question common sense stuff all day.
As always I would love to hear your two cents about systems, hiring and other time-consuming areas of your practice. Comment or DM.
