1. Have 2 to 3 easy, go-to talking points read ahead of time. This relieves pressure and prevents you from having to think on the fly.

2. You don’t have to sound smooth! Just be yourself, with a little more enthusiasm.

3. Body language speaks louder than words, so keep open body language and remember that your non-verbal cues are important as well.

Answering the question, “What are your salary expectations?” is often one of the most stressful and difficult to answer. Here are a few tips to make this question easier:

1. Do your research beforehand, using multiple sources, so you are prepared
2. Ask the company the salary range they are willing to offer, which will provide you with realistic expectations
3. Never discuss your current or previous salary, as some companies will use this information to either underpay or reject you from the role
4. Offer a salary range, as opposed to a fixed number, but make sure the lower end is acceptable for you
