I do not know what God placed in the air over Martha’s Vineyard, but my spirit knew almost immediately that it was allowed to rest there. ✨

The island is filled with its own little worlds, from Aquinnah, Chilmark, West Tisbury, and Vineyard Haven to Edgartown and Oak Bluffs.

But Oak Bluffs? Listen, that is where my heart stayed for more reasons than one! The history, the people, the food, the energy, and the feeling of being completely unburdened had me in a chokehold.

Swipe through to see 60% of the things I ate, explored, and absolutely loved on the island.

And just a heads-up, I actually drove down from NY, got a bed-n-breakfast on Cape Cod and took the boat over every day. But listen, Cape Cod deserves its own story, so we will talk about that next! 👀

You are your own hero, and AI is democratizing that. I loved this session from The Visibility Room event in Seattle!!!

That statement stopped me in my tracks.

For so long, we’ve been told we need permission. Permission to build. Permission to create. Permission to learn. Permission to have a seat at the table.

AI is changing that.

If one opportunity says no, AI can help you create another. If you don’t have access to a mentor, AI can become a coach. If you don’t know where to start, AI can help you take the first step.

It doesn’t replace your God-given gifts. It helps you amplify them.

The women who learn how to leverage AI today won’t just keep up. They’ll create opportunities that never existed before.

This is exactly why I’m so passionate about learning AI. Not because it’s a trend, but because it’s becoming one of the greatest equalizers of our generation.

COMMENT AMEN 🤍 AUGUST WILL BE DIFFERENT.

If this showed up on your feed today, I believe it’s for a reason in this season.

Daniel 1:9 says, “Now God had given the chief of staff both respect and affection for Daniel.” (NLT)

I’m praying that same favor over your career.

May the right recruiter see your potential.

May the right hiring manager recognize your value.

May the right opportunity find you at the right time.

Keep doing the work. Keep trusting God. Keep showing up.

And while you’re praying for the next opportunity, make sure your resume is ready when the door opens.

Your breakthrough could be one “yes” away.

Comment AMEN. 🤍

One thing I’ll never skip when planning an event…

The booklet.

I want every attendee to leave with something they can come back to weeks, months, or even years later.

Every page should have a purpose.

From the welcome letter and speaker resources to the reflection pages, free career tools, and a prayer over their next season, every detail is designed to extend the experience beyond the event itself.

If you’re planning an event, give people something they’ll want to keep.

The point isn’t that the booklet lasts longer than the event.

It’s that the booklet extends the transformation.

🤍

THIS IS NOT A SEASON TO BE WORKING IN SILENCE.

One of my favorite moments from The Visibility Room in Seattle came from angelina howard | tech + lifestyle

She shared how becoming more visible at Amazon changed the trajectory of her career, but what really resonated with me was her reminder to bring what you naturally enjoy into the workplace.

Whatever brings you joy, whatever you have fun doing, bring that energy to work and create that atmosphere around you.

Your personality, your ideas, and your presence are part of what makes you memorable.

So many people are doing incredible work and hoping someone notices. But your work and your voice have to meet.

Watch this one all the way through.

Sometimes the signs are subtle. Other times, they’re impossible to ignore.

As someone who’s worked in HR for years, I’ve learned that many people wait until they’re fired before they start preparing. By then, they’re already behind.

Here are a few signs it’s time to start positioning yourself:

• You’re no longer growing or being challenged.
• Your accomplishments keep getting overlooked.
• You dread Monday more than you enjoy Friday.
• Leadership has stopped investing in your development.
• Deep down, you know you’ve outgrown the role.

Notice I didn’t say panic.

I said prepare.

The best time to update your résumé, optimize your LinkedIn, and start networking is while you still have a paycheck. You make better decisions when you’re moving from a place of confidence instead of desperation.

Don’t wait until someone else decides your future. Be proactive. Your career deserves that level of intention.

Remember, your résumé should speak for you when you’re not in the room.

NOT ON HER WATCH.

Susan was the first Black recruiter at Microsoft and later at the Gates Foundation.

This conversation is about using your influence to open doors, change what people see, and make sure the next generation has a different story to tell.

One room. So many new connections, fresh opportunities, and unforgettable conversations.

Thank you, Seattle. New York, I can’t wait to meet you. 🤍
