Closing one plant. Launching another. Keeping a third fully staffed.

As Manufacturing Month wraps up, here is one of our favorite examples of what a trades staffing partner can do. A global tool and industrial equipment manufacturer was relocating operations in a tight Northeast Iowa labor market, where welders and machine operators simply were not available locally in the numbers needed.

Ameri-Force supported all three facilities at once: ~70 workers at peak, 9+ trade classifications, ~10 days average time to fill, an 80%+ fill rate, and an average tenure of 153 days, with out-of-state recruiting and travel support built in from the start.

Ameri-Force is looking for experienced TIG/Stick Combo Welders for a contract opportunity in the Rosenberg, TX area!

POSITION DETAILS:
Location: Rosenberg, TX Area
Pay: $45+/hr based on qualifications
Per Diem: $120/day for eligible travelers
Schedule: Must be open for night shift

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR:
Must be able to pass a 6G TIG welding test
Must be able to pass a 2G Stick welding test
Experience with TIG root and Stick fill/cap welding
Experience with pressure vessels, heat exchangers, or industrial pipe fabrication preferred
Ability to produce quality welds that pass visual and X-ray inspection

Two weeks ago, Ameri-Force executives John Glover and Ben Enman joined other SCA ( ) members in Honolulu for the 2026 Fall Meeting to connect, collaborate, and share insights on the future of America’s shipbuilding and ship repair industry. Members engaged in discussions on critical topics, from workforce development and policy priorities to emerging trends and challenges, highlighting the importance of a strong and sustainable maritime industrial base.

(Ben Enman was also in attendance. He managed to avoid the cameras entirely — but we can confirm he was working. Probably.)

A special thank you to Iain Wood and Pacific Shipyards International, LLC for hosting an incredible tour, providing us with a firsthand look at the innovative operations and cutting-edge practices that are helping to build the fleet of the future right here in the U.S. Finally, a huge thank you to the entire SCA team — Matt Paxton, Paula Zorensky, Davis Gaddy, and Nathan Sauls — for making it all happen!

334 welders placed. 100 at peak. A year-long backlog cleared.

A trailer manufacturer with three facilities in the Madison, WI area needed a steady pipeline of weld-ready production welders, and was already working with a national staffing firm. Every worker had to pass a weld test to the client's standard before day one, at a pay rate below the market average for traveling welders.

Ameri-Force delivered a 96%+ weld test pass rate and 3-5x the starts of the competing firm, with 2 lost-time incidents across 334 workers over 2+ years. When production shifted, we added aluminum welders. The client has re-engaged us in 2025 and again in 2026.
