Our client specializes in the testing of Fire Department’s Hoses, Pumps, Ground Ladders & Nozzles to ensure proper operation and code compliance in Texas, Louisiana, New Mexico, Oklahoma, Arkansas.
They are currently looking to fill the position of: Hose Inspection Crew Member
Full Time position - No Benefits offered at this time $17.00/Hr (with opportunity of bonus pay based on performance)
Plus Per Diem during travel ($20/day in town & $30/day out of town)
Overnight Travel During the week is often required - at least 60% of the time (Texas, Louisiana, Oklahoma, New Mexico, Arkansas) - Additional hourly pay during commute times.
Must pass Drug Test and Background check
Must have a valid Driver’s License (no previous suspensions)
This position is very Manual Labor intensive and you will be working outdoors.
Daily Duties:
1. Photo document each hose bed to ensure the hose is reloaded to your specifications.
2. Hose is off-loaded from one apparatus at a time. Test 14 lines simultaneously and normally complete an engine within 2.5 hours.
3. Visually inspect all hose, couplings, liners and gaskets for abnormalities. If a section of hose is found to be faulty, the line is removed from service and red tagged. Tags show when and why hose was removed from service and indicates the faulty area of the hose.
4. During testing, we inventory and log each hose using the Fire Department's identification system.
5. Following hydrostatic testing, each line is drained, rolled and reloaded according to your specifications. We usually test between 10-12,000 feet of hose per day.
6. Following the test inspections, we prepare a series of written reports.
You must be able to lift at least 50 lbs. and be able to climb ladders.

Salary: From $17.00 per hour
Expected hours: 35 – 45 per week (Monday - Friday)
