This week we are featuring Tiana Stewart for our student spotlight! Tiana is a senior in our undergrad CSD program from Forest City, NC.

Tiana is the president of NBASLH. Her future goal is to become a SLP, and educate others about African American English (AAE) to recognize the importance that it is a difference, not a disorder.

Tiana was asked what advice she would give to her freshman self. She said "You will find yourself in spaces where you feel like you’re the only one who looks like you, thinks like you, or comes from where you come from. Don’t let that make you question whether you belong. You belong in every room you worked hard to enter. Don’t shrink yourself. You can take up space, use your voice and trust that God placed you there for a reason."
