Midwest Ambassadors for the Culinary Arts

Midwest Ambassadors for the Culinary Arts MACA exists to promote education, awareness and appreciation of the culinary arts in Northeastern Missouri and Southeastern Iowa.

MACA was inspired by the many wonderful facets of the culinary world, namely getting together with friends to share a wonderful meal while offering excellent employment to students having a recognized culinary education. MACA promotes the need for a culinary education, in a world where the food industry is experiencing an extreme shortage of trained chefs AND awareness of the life-long employment opportunities in that field.

Our soldout Spring S'Porktacular has been postponed in the light of the national Coronavirus outbreak, originally scheduled for this Friday, March 20th. A future date will be scheduled as soon as the national coast is clear on the virus.

Our Spring S’Porktacular is sold out for March 20th! Thank you all for your support! Last night, at IHCC’s Culinary Scholarship dinner we presented their Director Chef Mark Fisher with a board approved $2,000 check for their program! That’s the reason we have MACA events! To support culinary education and awareness in our area! If you’d like to be on our list for further events, just email: [email protected]
and I’ll put you on the list for the next event!

Spring really is, just around the corner, even though we might not feel like it now here in the Heartland! What better way to celebrate Spring than to join us at our next event, with Chef Gordon and IHCC culinary students preparing a 9 course MACA Spring S'Porktacular where pork is the star?! Culinary delights like Leek Soup with Maple Glazed Bacon, Pork Osso Bucco (Pork Shanks) with Polenta and Port Demi-Glace and Pork Tenderloin Jus Lie are just a tease for the entire MACA experience. I say experience because it's a package of amazing food, seeing the food being prepared in real-time before your eyes and amazing conversation with terrific guests that are like minded foodies. The cost is $100 per person, including wine pairings. Randy and I cover all administrative costs and event location costs, so only food/wine and labor are expensed. This allows the maximum amount of funds to be available for culinary program grants and scholarships in Northeast Missouri and Southeast Iowa. To date, since our 2016 inception, we've awarded greater than $4K in culinary scholarships and program grants. To secure your spot, please call Heliene Tobler at 314-749-1545 or email me at [email protected].
