Juneteenth is a time to reflect, celebrate and come together as a community. ❤️ 💚 💛 Throughout the week, check out more events across the city honoring the holiday through history, art, culture and connection.

🖤 4th Annual Juneteenth Run/Walk: Hosted by We Run 313 x Henry Ford Health - 6/18 from 5-7:30 p.m. a community celebration promoting wellness across Detroit featuring a run/walk, health screenings, local resources, family activities and more.

🖤 Juneteenth Parade & Celebration - 6/19 from 9 a.m. - 2 p.m. watch Detroit’s fourth original Juneteenth Parade & Celebration pass through Midtown, starting at the Tabernacle Missionary Baptist Church and ending at the Joseph Walker Williams Community Center.

🖤 Detroit People's Food Co-op - 6/19 from 12-6 p.m., celebrate with a Cookout featuring plenty of food, vendors, activities and Special Guest DJ Shane Mo.

🖤 Charles H. Wright Museum of African American History - Enjoy a full-day of programming on 6/19 including a treasure hunt, silent yoga, healing-through-art workshop, outdoor field day, dance tribute, cookout and so much more!

🖤 Detroit Public Library - 6/20 explore the history and impact of Black medical schools and departments with Dr. Anita Moncrease from 1-3 p.m. Then continue the celebration from 2-3 p.m. by creating your own Juneteenth flag in a community craft activity.

The Detroit Water and Sewerage Department (DWSD) is sharing this message as a cautionary notification due to potential, isolated flooding through Friday.

DWSD and the Great Lakes Water Authority (GLWA) are monitoring the weather. The local and regional sewer systems are currently functioning as designed. During heavy rain, we urge all customers to reduce water usage during the rain event to provide more capacity in the sewer system, and take safety precautions by not driving or walking into standing water.

DWSD crews are ready to respond to potential flooding.

The Detroit Police Department has made it accessible for community members to obtain police reports, gun permits, police clearances, and fingerprinting. Community members can now visit the 3rd precinct, located on 2875 W. Grand Blvd, to obtain those items.

Family Fun Day at the DPD 4th Precinct is coming back! Join our officers for a day packed with food, dancing, bounce houses, face painting and lots of fun! 🤩

The 2026 Ford Fireworks light up the Detroit River on Monday, June 22, and hundreds of thousands of people are expected to celebrate downtown.

📍 Plan ahead. The best places to watch are the City's designated viewing areas: Hart Plaza, Spirit Plaza, Erma Henderson Park (new this year), and Belle Isle. Arriving early is recommended, as viewing areas will close once they reach capacity.

🚗 Getting there? Expect road closures, heavy traffic and changes to parking throughout the day. Taking DDOT, the People Mover or the QLINE is one of the easiest ways to get around downtown.

👩‍👧 Families: A special downtown curfew for minors (17 and under) will be in effect Monday from 8 p.m. until 6 a.m. Tuesday. Young people are welcome to enjoy the fireworks, but anyone within the curfew area must be accompanied by a parent, legal guardian or responsible adult (21+) after 8 p.m.

🌳 Know before you go. Several riverfront parks and trails will be closed, and security screening will be in place at official viewing areas. Be sure to check the list of prohibited items before you head out.
