Repetition

Work Ethic: the principle that hard work is intrinsically virtuous or worthy of reward.

This shouldn’t be a surprise.

If we’re talking about the best of the best, a strong work ethic is non-negotiable amongst them.

There’s case study after case study, testimonial after testimonial. And we’ll testify as well after having seen what happens to countless players who have passed through our tutelage, and the cohort we’ve competed against and monitored.

The best players, historically, and from personal experience, by and large, don’t come from a soft, pampered, background. They come from struggle and having to earn every inch of progress.

Nothing does that better than the self-regulating streets.

Nothing does that better than pickup game culture.
-
Privilege and entitlements go out the window here folks. This is the jungle. But these are also among the fondest memories of virtually all footballers. Aside from building irreplaceable footballing skills, it builds character that lasts a lifetime. Players at the earliest of ages will gain more from a weekly experience in that environment than practically any structured club program.

If a player has become accustomed to dribble through people as a default decision, then they’re not really learning to look for and assess all the other options. Which is perhaps the most difficult thing to do in soccer. You can’t just decide one day to go against years of going to your default operating procedure (a habit), learn a new – extremely difficult – one, and expect to quickly catch up or surpass your peers who already have been working on that for years.
