Day of Heroes

Day of Heroes The Day of Heroes is to honor our local unsong heroes. This event will be held at the Coeur d’Alene City Park starting at 11:00 AM and ending at 5:00 PM.

On June 6th, 2015, Gateway Fellowship, along with the cities of Coeur d’Alene, Hayden, Post Falls, and Rathdrum, will be hosting the first annual Coeur d’Alene Regional Day of Heroes. Admission is free to all. The purpose of this event is to celebrate the unsung local heroes in our region who have made a meaningful contribution to the community though their work, acts of service, or acts of herois

m, and to honor them with a “Local Hero Award.” Individuals eligible to be nominated for the “Local Hero Award” are all local and county law enforcement, Fire/EMS, first responders, and 911 dispatch personnel. These categories also include staff of the departments who are members of special response teams such as Search and Rescue, Hazmat, Dive Team, etc. The focus is to honor these individuals for the services they fulfill for our community every day of the year. Nominations will come from the local community by submission of a nomination form for that individual. There will be a formal awards ceremony to recognize and honor these individuals, and the awards will be presented by special guests. This day will be filled with free games and activities to be enjoyed by the whole family. Attendees may bring a picnic or take advantage of local food vendors and enjoy honoring these nominees in a safe and festive atmosphere. Since this is a day of honoring these local heroes, we encourage the community to dress up as their favorite super hero. There are several ways that the local community may nominate individuals for the “Local Hero Award,” beginning March 23rd, 2015 and ending May 25th, 2015.
