I just wanted to share with you an organization that is hard at work to help out mothers that have been impacted by the Ukraine/ Russia Conflict.

Almost 6 million refugees have fled Ukraine and 90% of those refugees are women with children. They need futures, not handouts. . . Mission Mums is on the ground in the EU working to create security and hope for these women through work.

The reality is that we don’t know how long this conflict will last. For this reason, organizations like Mission Mums are working to help these mothers integrate into their new countries by finding fair-pay jobs so they can provide a better future for their kids.

Hello Everyone! Happy Friday!

I just wanted to share a quick tip regarding interviews.
You only get one shot, so make sure you prepare prior to speaking with a recruiter or a hiring manager.

Quick Tips
1. Review your work history and think through some DETAILED examples of how you ADDED VALUE or MADE A DIFFERENCE at your previous company.
2. Make sure you are answering the questions, and not going on irrelevant tangents.
3. Your examples MUST BE relevant to the skill sets required by the job you are applying to. We see this all the time.

Example: If you are applying for an accounting or finance position, but it so happens that in your previous job you were also in charge of HR, make sure your examples are specific to the finance or accounting position. Don’t spend 5 minutes talking about how you implemented a succession plan or updated the health benefits for employees. The interviewer is interested in your finance/accounting experience, like your month-end reports, and experience with general ledger and/or reconciliations.

Follow these 3 quick tips and you will shine at your next interview. Remember you only get one shot, so make it count.

QUIT IF ASKED TO RETURN TO WORK?

As more and more things continue to open and a sense of normalcy starts to overcome us. Small, Medium, and Large Corporations are starting to open up their offices.

From a hiring point of view, we at Globe Talent Finders get mixed messages regarding whether or not candidates want to return to the office work environment. Some candidates are only looking for remote work, while others are tired of being at home and are counting the days to go back to the office. Which one are you?
