Commercial Construction Administrative Assistant (Part-Time)
Ranger Construction Company is a commercial general contractor specializing in upfits, renovations, and maintenance of office, industrial, and medical properties in Charlotte and surrounding areas. Ranger One-Call is a division of the company, and the Human Resources role serves both groups. Ranger has been in business for over 20 years and is a Service Disabled Veteran Owned Small Business.

Essential Functions:
• General office duties including writing letters, answering phones, filing, preparing reports, assisting with incoming/outgoing mail.
• Develop and update administrative systems to make them more efficient
• Resolve administrative problems
• Provide polite and professional communication
• Manage and administer company provided cell phones, iPads, laptops, including assisting with set up and troubleshooting.
• Manage the assignment of vehicles to new employees, tracking vehicles, fuel cards, key box management, overseeing maintenance logs
• Office management duties including, stock supplies, meeting coordination, event updates and reminders, birthday and sympathy cards
• Assist in supporting and planning company charitable and networking events
• Assist with managing Website / social media updates
• Manage company uniforms distribution.
• Participates in special projects and performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Minimum of two years administrative experience.
• High school diploma or an equivalent combination of training and experience; Associates degree or Bachelor degree preferred.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite including Word, Excel, and Publisher
• Capable of multi-tasking in a fast paced, open office environment
• Capable of interrelating with personnel at all levels of construction activity
• Must follow company and client policies and procedures
• Capable of clear verbal, written, and electronic communications
• Must take initiative to complete tasks and look for opportunities to assist other employees
• Team player that models team player behavior
• Personable and professional demeanor, works cooperatively, and customer service oriented
• Organized, task oriented, and follows through in a timely manner

Essential Functions:

• Collaborate with and support Management team and all employees on all matters relating to human resources
• Maintain compliance with employment laws across the company and within human resources department
• Develop and implement company policies except those relating to construction work policies
• Oversee recruiting and hiring process
• Enforce disciplinary policies and actions for all employees, including terminations
• Assess and implement company benefit programs and plans
• Coordinate management training programs and new employee training
• Support management with employee performance reviews, compensation decisions, and disciplinary actions
• Maintain employee personnel records including confidential documentation and job descriptions
• Handle all new employee hiring documentation and on-boarding processes
• Assist with employee safety programs and process relating to work site accidents or injuries
• Assist with time entry and payroll processing under the direction of Chief Financial Officer
• Evaluate requests for paid time off and leaves of absence and facilitate the process
• Process correspondence including unemployment claims, insurance claims, disability applications, and benefits enrollment

Qualifications and Requirements:

• Must possess a strong understanding of human resources, related laws, and supervisory skills
• Must be proficient with Microsoft Office Suite including Word, Excel, and Publisher
• Must have strong organizational skills
• Capable of multi-tasking in a fast paced, open office environment
• Capable of interrelating with personnel at all levels of construction activity
• Must follow company and client policies and procedures
• Capable of clear verbal, written, and electronic communications

Education and Experience:

• College degree, preferably in related field
• Minimum of 3 years’ experience in a professional human resources environment, or similar management level role, preferably in commercial construction

Full Job Description
MUST HAVES:
• Successful completion of high school diploma or equivalent
• 1-2 years of training at a technical school or equivalent experience
• Strong PC/IT skills (i.e. Word, Excel, etc)
PLUSSES:
• Experience working in the communications/telecom or engineering industry
• College degree – Bachelors or Associates
• Design Software experience (AutoCAD, Solidworks)
• Manufacturing industry experience
DAY TO DAY:
• The CAD Technician is an entry level position which requires development of knowledge in specific area of drafting, e.g., electrical drawings, mechanical drawings, or civil drawings with the ability to operate a computer aided drafting (CAD) system. Work is performed under supervision and is revised or spot checked while in progress. Incumbents are expected to develop skills in their area of expertise, and the ability to work with greater independence. This person will be utilizing drafting software to design warehouse systems telecommunication systems for a Charlotte based manufacturer. It is preferred for candidates to have exposure to AutoCAD/any design software. This position will be behind a desk/computer on a day to day basis utilizing the design software to complete projects. Candidates must be technically savvy and able to work in person, Monday-Friday, 40 hours a week. The client is taking full precautions in terms of safety with COVID (sanitizing stations, social distancing, no large crowd gatherings, masks, etc).
This role is mainly responsible for:
• Creating diagrams, schematics, layouts, multi-view, and various drawings in accordance with clients' requests.
• Mathematical, geometrical, and minor engineering computations.
• Creating “to scale” engineering drawings using computer aided drafting system.
