KMW Recruitment It's not just about filling a position, it's about fueling your mission.

If a candidate can Google the “right” answer before the interview, what are you actually measuring?

Stop asking for the label.

Collect the evidence.

Great chemistry can make us stop asking the questions that matter.

Whether you’re hiring or being hired—

CHEMISTRY ≠ CAPABILITY.

“I’m tired of playing the interview game.”

Then stop playing it.

Stop searching for the answer they want to hear or trying to become the person you assume they want to hire.

Know what you’re good at.
Know what you bring to the table.
Know how to communicate it.

And have the evidence to back it up.

Those capabilities don’t just matter in an interview.

They matter when you negotiate, advocate, lead, sell an idea, set a boundary—or walk into any room where your value needs to be understood.

Raise your value—in every interaction, everywhere.

When did not being able to reach a human become an acceptable service model?

Automation works—until your situation doesn’t fit one of the options the system anticipated.

Then there’s no person. No escalation. No resolution.

And companies are creating the same experience for candidates.

Apply. Automated confirmation. Silence.

Candidates aren’t transactions moving through your hiring system. They’re people interacting with your company—and that interaction communicates plenty about how your company operates.

Automation should make communication easier.

It shouldn’t make humans unreachable.

“Where do you see yourself in five years?”

Five years is a long time to predict a career that may not follow a straight line.

So stop manufacturing an answer around a future title, company, or position.

Instead, describe your direction:
What capabilities do you want to develop?
What problems do you want to become better at solving?
What skills do you want to build?

You don't need to know exactly where you'll be in five years.
Know what you want to be capable of when you get there.

“Tell me about a time you failed.”

Suddenly, you’re calculating risk.

Which failure is big enough to be credible—but not so big that it costs you the job?
The failure itself only tells part of the story.

The better evidence comes later.

What changed?
What did you do differently the next time?

Anyone can say, “I learned from it.”

Changed behavior proves you did.

How many interviews is too many?

Thoroughness is not the same as indecision. Every added interview, delayed timeline, and conflicting message tells candidates something about how your company operates.

Your hiring process is a preview of what comes next.

Define the process. Align the team. Communicate the timeline. Then execute it.

Getting fired is bad news. Right?

The consequences can be difficult. But does the leader delivering the information get to decide what it means before the employee even receives it?

A leader’s job: communicate clearly, provide context, and respond with empathy.

The employee gets to decide what that news means to them.

Agree or disagree?

09/08/2026

Years of experience ≠ capability.

Time tells you how long. Results tell you how good.

Stop leading with “20+ years of experience.” Show what you built, solved, changed, and delivered.

09/03/2026

Experience isn't a liability simply because there's a lot of it.

The candidate you're calling “overqualified” may bring decades of pattern recognition, judgment and lessons your company won't have to pay for them to learn again.

Before you reject them, separate evidence from assumption.

Can they do the job?
Do they want the job?
Can they deliver the value you need?

If the answers are yes, age shouldn't be the reason you move on—and for applicants 40+, federal law says it can't be.

Don't screen out experience before you've calculated its value.
