I used to be at war with the woman I saw every day in the mirror.
If I could just lose these last ten pounds, if I didn’t have those dimples on the back of my lags, if my saddlebags would just shrink. Scrutinizing every inch and shaming the parts that didn’t fit what I had been told was beautiful.
I was unkind to my body.
From how I treated it to how I let others treat it.
I could pretend to be as positive as I wanted, but deep down I didn’t feel great so this was only a temporary fix.
It wasn’t until I started to show my body KINDNESS that I was able to start having a healthier relationship with this body I call home.
It’s time we stop trying to hate ourselves healthy. We don’t often treat the things we hate with kindness, compassion, and care so why would our bodies be any different?
So I’m here to spread Body Kindness. We don’t have to be positive, hell we don’t even have to be neutral, but we most certainly can always choose to be kind.
Not sure how to start showing your body some kindness? Start by saying these things to yourself daily, it helps if you are looking in a mirror. And then write some things you love about your own body and read it to yourself daily.
