THEY REPRESENTED THEMSELVES AND G2G SO WELL!!

Trey and Ajohnta were educated by Charles Eco-PARADIGM as The Come Up Project Farm Program Manager. They have now been working with Eco-Paradigm for 4 YEARS!! We are sooo proud.

The video footage showcases the hard working men of Eco-Paradigm, most who have never been in our program AND are definitely part of this huge village we've joined. THANK YOU for allowing us to use the video!

West ATL Watershed Alliance stewards the land we were on and contracts Eco-PARADIGM to work the land. Our Environmental Responsibility educator AnaMarie Fort Negrita the Co-op is West ATL Watershed Alliance is their Education Program Director.

In the future, whenever we do press, we would like to be able to share more about all of our partners and the community we are part of. 11Alive News cut it out...its the way of this world and this society for us all to be individualist. AND They are given a limited amount of time to present stories.

At the same time, we are extremely grateful as we are in the midst of raising $2,237,000 for the next program. It cost $846,000 to pay 20 G2Gs for 10 months. The rest goes to 3 life changing experiences out of town, 8 full-time staff members, a part time therapist & case-manager, over 20 educators, commercial kitchen & program space The Multi-Use Radical People’s Hall, program materials and more. This doesn't include any health benefits for anyone including me, the Founder/ Lead Organizer.

In this 10th year, we are getting our ish tighter.

We're soooo proud to be a member of Black Sustainability, Inc. where you can connect, learn, and build with Black led organizations & businesses from all over the world. Folks who value Mama Earth. As you heard, this is their second PAID training program this Summer!

A few Fridays ago we rocked out with National Black Food Justice Alliance interns and Diamond Hill Food Co-op steering committee at the usual spot, Magnolia Park Apartments. cheffed up a classic southern breakfast and together we shared, loved, and learned.

Thank you National Black Food & Justice Alliance for providing us members with political educational tools that we can use with our fam, our community!

I left The Come Up Project with one thought:

Food is political.

Not just because of what’s on our plates, but because of who has access, who owns the land, and who has the power to shape the food system.

Spending time with this incredible woman-led organization reminded me that real change starts with organizing. Gangstas to Growers is creating opportunities for healing, entrepreneurship, and worker ownership in agriculture while empowering formerly incarcerated and at-risk youth to build a stronger, Black-led food system. I was inspired by the work and it was the reminder that communities change when people decide to come together and take action.

Sometimes we think the answer is bigger funding or better policies. Sometimes the answer is simply getting organized.

Thank you to the entire Gangstas to Growers team for pouring into us and showing what community-led change can look like.

If food is political, then growing food together is one of the most powerful acts of organizing we have.
