Soldiers of the Cross, Inc. are currently the Managing Directors of The Good Samaritan Transitional House (GSTH) located in Newnan, GA. The Good Samaritan Transitional House Inc. is also a non-profit, faith based, 501(c)(3) approved organization that provides temporary housing to homeless men. Based on the Biblical parable, their primary goal is to allow men a safe place to live while they get their lives back together. By providing housing, food, life skills training, and spiritual assistance the men can gain employment and reenter into society. We presently have four fully furnished units located on 3rd Street in Newnan, GA. Our occupancy rates are very high and we would like to double the number of units in the future. Here is an opportunity to help disciple and guide a man back into society. We can always use volunteers to spend time with our residence. Only requirement is a few hours and the love of Jesus. Also, we need a church or two to provide meals to the men on a regular basis. The men look forward to the visitors bringing food and fellowship. Our long term goal and prayer is to provide apartments for transitional families in need.

For the last nineteen years Soldiers of the Cross has distributed coats and cold weather apparel to the homeless and under housed in the downtown Atlanta area. The distribution is always the Saturday after Thanksgiving. This year it will be the 30th of November, 2019. We usually are accompanied by 25 - 50 people to assist in the effort; please feel free to join us if you are so called. Thanks to the generosity of local churches and individuals we have been able to bless many, many people that truly need these items. The people that go with us to the streets are usually blessed more that the recipients of the goods. It is an opportunity to see first hand how the less fortunate in our society live and witness the true Gospel of Jesus Christ.
10-15 Faith Riders will accompany us under the bridge as they have for the last 15 years.
Go to your closets, garages, and storage areas. If there is an acceptable piece of cold weather clothing that you haven’t worn in a year or two or you plan on replacing it, put it in a bag to donate for the distribution.

Well it’s about that time again to start planning the SOC 19th annual Coat and Blanket distribution in Atlanta on the Saturday after Thanksgiving. I know I said that might be my last time leading the effort but with God’s grace and the love of family and friends I think we’ll go for one more. After all God’s got it all covered and we’re just hands and feet.
Anybody that wants to help, participate, donate or pray for this event are welcomed. I’m looking for people to help in all capacities. I have warehouse space, trucks and trailers as always.
At this time I’m a little banged up. I broke my femur and knee on the Fourth of July and I’m pretty much immobile. Also on the same day my wife Eileen badly broke her shoulder at the ER looking for me. But we are mending and your prayers are effective (James 5:16) and well received.

God has used this ministry for His glory for the last 18 years and I expect His blessings again. All of you that have so loyally participated know what I mean.

So what’s next? Prayerfully consider involving yourself and/ or your resources to this project. Let me know by text, FB, phone or email what your thoughts are.

Please spread the word through your church and organizations.

God bless

I’d like to personally thank everyone that donated, contributed, and prayed for our recent outreach. It couldn’t have gone off any smoother. Looking down the street and seeing all those people praying with the homeless touched me deeply.

Please post all the pictures you may have. Here’s Pastor Steve Bullard’s video of us rolling out of Royal Baptist Church.
