When a healthcare position stays open, simply adding another job posting or another recruiting source may not solve the problem.

The better first question is:

Why is this role difficult to fill?

At HealthYes, we want to understand what has already been tried, what candidates are saying, what requirements are narrowing the market, and where the search appears to be getting stuck.

That may mean looking at:

• candidate availability
• compensation
• geography
• schedule or call
• licensing
• relocation
• candidate feedback
• the hiring process itself

Then the recruiting strategy can be built around the actual problem.

Hiring a recruiting firm should not require blind trust.

Before signing an agreement, healthcare employers should understand:

• when the fee is triggered
• how candidate ownership works
• how duplicate candidates are handled
• what replacement protection exists
• what communication to expect
• who is actually running the search
• what the recruiter is doing beyond posting the role

Those details matter.

A strong recruiting partnership starts with clear expectations on both sides.

Our latest article covers the questions employers should ask before bringing in an outside recruiting firm:

What Should a Healthcare Employer Ask Before Signing With a Recruiting Firm?

And if you are considering outside help for a difficult clinical search, HealthYes is happy to talk through the process before asking you to make a decision.

Why do some healthcare positions stay open for months while others fill relatively quickly?

It’s rarely one thing.

Specialty supply, geography, compensation, schedule, licensing, relocation, experience requirements and hiring speed can all reduce the realistic candidate market.

That’s why more applications do not automatically mean a better search.

The first step is understanding what is actually making the position difficult to fill.

Our latest article breaks down the factors employers should examine before simply increasing recruiting activity:

What Makes a Healthcare Position Truly Hard to Fill?

And if you already have a difficult physician, NP/PA, specialty or clinical search, HealthYes would be glad to learn more about what you’re facing.

We Don't Sell Resumes. We Solve Difficult Searches.
Healthcare recruiting should create more value than forwarding CVs.
For a difficult search, the real work may include:
understanding why the role isn't closing,
defining the actual candidate market,
finding people who aren't applying,
building targeted outreach,
adjusting the search when something isn't working,
and staying close enough to the process to understand why candidates move forward — or don't.
That's the kind of recruiting challenge HealthYes wants.
We don't need every search.
We want the searches where resourcefulness, persistence, and focused recruiting can actually make a difference.
We don't sell resumes. We solve difficult searches.

Would you rather receive 50 resumes or 3 physicians who actually fit the position?
Applicant volume can look impressive without moving a difficult search any closer to a hire.
For a hard-to-fill physician role, the better questions are:
Who actually fits the opportunity?
How many of those physicians realistically exist in the market?
What requirements are truly necessary?
What is causing candidates to say no?
Are we reaching physicians who are not actively applying?
Is the compensation, schedule, location, or call structure limiting the search?
The objective isn't to create the largest pile of CVs.
It's to identify the people who can realistically become the hire.
That's where targeted recruiting matters.
We don't sell resumes. We solve difficult searches.

If your Florida dental practice keeps reposting the same hygienist opening without getting the result you need, the problem may not be advertising alone.
A hygienist is evaluating more than hourly pay.
Schedule flexibility matters.
Patient load matters.
Office culture matters.
Equipment and support matter.
Benefits matter.
How quickly the practice responds matters.
And in a competitive market, qualified hygienists may have several options at the same time.
That means the recruiting strategy has to look at both the search and the opportunity itself.
HealthYes is expanding our difficult-search approach into dental staffing because the same principle applies:
We don't sell resumes. We solve difficult searches.

Breast cancer does not always cause noticeable symptoms in its early stages. Screening mammograms can identify changes before a lump can be felt.

For women at average risk, current USPSTF guidance recommends a mammogram every two years from ages 40 through 74. Your personal or family history may require an earlier or different screening schedule, so speak with a healthcare professional about what is appropriate for you.

Cost or lack of insurance should not automatically prevent someone from being screened. We have included verified free and no-cost screening opportunities in the first comment below.

Appointments, availability and eligibility requirements may change.

Please contact the organization before traveling.

You're Recruiting the Community Too.
When a physician has to relocate, compensation is only one piece of the decision.
They may also be asking:
How far is the airport?
What are the schools like?
What will my spouse or partner do?
What does call actually look like?
Can I picture my family living there?
What will my day-to-day life feel like?
Those questions aren't separate from physician recruiting.
They're part of the opportunity.
For rural and difficult-location searches, employers should make the community as easy to understand as the job itself.
HealthYes looks beyond the job description because sometimes the difference between interest and rejection is everything surrounding the position.

One unfilled clinical position can have an outsized impact in a critical access hospital.
The remaining team absorbs more work.
Coverage becomes harder.
Patient access can tighten.
Leadership feels pressure to hire quickly.
But when the search is not working, simply spending more money on the same approach may not change the result.
A reset should ask:
What is actually making this position difficult?
Is the compensation competitive?
Are the requirements too narrow?
How large is the realistic candidate market?
Are we reaching clinicians who are not actively applying?
Does the role require relocation?
What happens to coverage while recruiting continues?
That is where a more targeted search begins.
We don't just post jobs and wait. We find people.

When an FQHC has an open physician role, leadership may actually be dealing with two separate problems.
Problem 1: Who becomes the long-term physician?
Problem 2: What happens to patient access until that person arrives?
Permanent recruitment addresses the first.
Locum coverage may help address the second.
For some organizations, the answer is permanent recruiting only. For others, temporary coverage may be necessary first. And sometimes both strategies should run at the same time.
The right answer depends on the role, urgency, patient volume, existing team, and how long the position has already been open.
Our latest article breaks down those options specifically for FQHCs.
