Thread Net Hunza -TNH , a known brand name for its quality, uniqueness, aesthetic and cultural appeal, comes from many years of struggle, experiences and investment made by Karakoram Area Development Organization (KADO) under Karakoram Handicraft Development Programme (KHDP). This initiative united artisans, women and disadvantage groups and local communities in order to improve the socio-economic
conditions of the communities in the Karakoram region. The initiative resulted in the formation of independent women-owned companies, which is testimony of the commitments of its stakeholders to promote handicrafts and leverage income and employment opportunities and to continuously build the capacity of rural women, low income families and the disabled members of the community.
