BE INFORMED. STAY VIGILANT. STOP HUMAN TRAFFICKING.
In observance of National Anti-Trafficking Awareness Month this July, the Department of Migrant Workers (DMW) calls on overseas Filipino workers (OFWs), their families, and all government employees to remain vigilant against human trafficking and illegal recruitment.
Speaking before DMW personnel, Undersecretary Darlene Pajarito emphasized the importance of recognizing the "red flags" of human trafficking. She urged everyone to understand the acts, means, and purposes that constitute trafficking, including deceptive recruitment practices and all forms of exploitation, whether through force, coercion, or other unlawful means.
"I hope that you will know by heart the acts, means, and purpose that would constitute trafficking. The red flags are there, and each one of us must know where to go and who to report these cases to. We appeal to everyone to remain vigilant against illegal recruitment and human trafficking," Undersecretary Pajarito said.
If you encounter or suspect cases of illegal recruitment or human trafficking, immediately report them to the DMW Migrant Workers Protection Bureau (MWPB).
