TIKTOK ALGORITHM HACKS, WE'VE SEEN IT. IT'S GOOD...UNTIL IT'S NOT

DISCUSSION:

It's very common nowadays for Tiktok to show you hacks on how to Beat the Algorithm especially if you're an artist. It's the typical "Post Content Everyday", "Say This For Your Intro", "Use Tiktok Creator Program" we're all used to.

But what you have to remember is that Tiktok isn't a business-school-handing-free-advice life hack. If you keep following these "algorithm hacks" you're destined to fail because you're solely relying on luck for the success of your career instead of self-made success.

Influencers, sadly, do not see you as entrepreneurs they see you as clout. They prey on your desperation in becoming successful and take advantage of you by misinforming you with incorrect step-by-step processes in building a brand, because they know you'll keep coming back in view of the fact that you received bad information and want to fix it.

Do not blame yourself if this is something you've done, if you feel like you did everything for your music but still failed miserably don't blame yourself. You didn't fail, they failed you. Don't quit because there is so much you can learn from having a real-life business partner, even a mentor or a manager. Keep moving forward and really find a genuine creative friend to exchange ideas with.

Remember, the greatest generative AI tool out there is our brains.

DISCUSSION:
Being a self-taught music artist (or any kind of artist) is already tough enough, what more if you get a degree for it, it evidently doesn't transform into fast income.

You're stuck wearing the same crutches as the artist who didn't get a degree in music theory. And what is the biggest thing both of you have in common?

Nobody taught you how to build a business.

Degrees are only good for employment and if that's the limit of your expertise, you're NOT finding a job in this age of generative AI models. There's SUNO and AI musicians, you're sadly beat by them even if you're coming up with original stuff.

If i ever had a chance to go back in time and choose a major in college, i'd get a degree in E-commerce. Because E-comm teaches you how to find your biggest fans, not how to allure the biggest fanbases—eventually leading you to become another generic act.
