The WAN Accommodation matters. Connecting members to communities through accommodation, every season.

Bringing together local businesses, their workers & affordable accommodation. The WAN aims to reinvent accommodation exchanges to build more sustainable outcomes for the whole community. We seek to support local businesses, connecting their seasonal/temporary workers with safe, secure and affordable accommodation, for the time they choose to live & work in our communities. We are driven by our core values - Manaakitanga (hospitality, care and reciprocity), Kaitiakitanga (guardianship of people and place) and Whānaungatanga (developing relationships through shared experiences). We are focussed on delivering to four key objectives:-
• To provide affordable, safe accommodation experiences for workers (Wellbeing)
• To provide a stable workforce for our local businesses (Workforce security)
• To provide commercial (but not excessive) returns for accommodation providers (Viability)
• And to grow our community goodwill and togetherness (to create a generous future)

Accommodation matters.

The WAN

The Workforce Accommodation Network (The WAN) aims to connect seasonal workers to safe, affordable, secure accommodation that's right for them.

Seasonal workers are the backbone of many towns, help build infrastructure and support our export markets. Yet often they cannot find suitable accommodation for short periods of time and their contribution to the community is perhaps under valued.

We bridge the gap and make it easier to offer, find and connect temporary accommodation to those seasonal workers working in our local businesses. Our workers are verified by local businesses we know and trust. Workers are valued and have an opportunity to be a part of the community. Accommodation becomes not just a commercial transaction, it provides a sense of belonging.

We want to reduce the barriers to community inclusion through small repeatable actions.
