It’s more than a run.
It’s community. It’s culture. It’s Lagos.

I’ve been asking myself a hard question lately: How do I reconcile my reality with my aspirations?

Building a business in Nigeria isn’t glamorous. It’s stretching & humbling. For the past year, I recorded episodes of Current Mind & shared them with an audience of two whole listeners (😅) — mostly as a way to document my journey for myself.

Year 2, I’m in a different frame of mind.

This voiceover is from Episode 6 of Current Mind:
“Building in the Dark: What I’ve Learned Since March ’25.”
Telling the truth about where I am (was), what I learned, and what it actually takes to keep going.

A new year comes with pressure to set new goals.
But maybe there isn’t a new goal for you.
Maybe the work is embracing the frustration and digging in deeper than you ever have before.

2025 WRAPPED 🤎

This year, we didn’t just create content—we built infrastructure. From executing Afrobeats Intelligence Season 4 (30M+ views!) to signing and watching her build an entire ecosystem in 4 months. From Tinsel Town at Foodie in Lagos to shooting pilots for The Joey Akan Experience. From cultural documentation to brand partnerships that actually believe in the vision.

I don’t chase virality. I build legacy.

Thank you to every creator who trusted us, every brand that partnered with us, and everyone who showed up. You’re part of this story.

This is still largely a one-woman operation and I’m hoping to grow a steady team in 2025. A big shoutout to for showing up in every way possible. Their belief in Úrú & flexibility keeps me going.

A very special thank you to my friends & family who keep me going.

With love,
Nneka

At this year’s Lagos Fashion Week, designer Desirée Iyama presented a collection that captured the quiet power of intentional design — pieces that balance structure and softness, and a vision that continues to define modern Nigerian femininity.

Through her work, Desirée Iyama reminds us of the strength in subtlety — how design can hold emotion, identity, and discipline all at once.
