Reports To: Chief Operator
Employment Type: Full-time
Probation Period: Six (6) months, subject to satisfactory performance.
Salary: N150,000
Accommodation: First 3 months
Job Summary
The Machine Operator is responsible for the safe, efficient, and hygienic operation of assigned production equipment to ensure the consistent manufacture of high-quality Kayora Premium Water. The role includes operating, monitoring, cleaning, and carrying out basic maintenance of production machinery while ensuring compliance with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), food safety standards, and company Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
Key Responsibilities
Machine Operation
* Operate assigned production equipment, including blowing, filling, capping, labeling, shrink wrapping, palletizing, or water treatment equipment.
* Start up, monitor, adjust, and shut down machines according to approved SOPs.
* Ensure machines operate at optimum efficiency while minimizing downtime.
* Monitor machine parameters and report abnormalities immediately.
Production
* Meet daily production targets established by the Production Department.
* Ensure products meet company quality specifications.
* Minimize product wastage and material losses.
* Assist during product changeovers and line setup.
Quality Assurance
* Follow GMP, HACCP, and food safety requirements.
* Ensure only approved raw materials and packaging materials are used.
* Perform routine in-process quality checks.
* Immediately report defective products or equipment problems.
Preventive Maintenance
* Perform routine cleaning and basic preventive maintenance.
* Lubricate equipment where authorized.
* Report faults requiring technical repairs promptly.
* Assist maintenance personnel during equipment servicing.
Documentation
* Complete production logs accurately.
* Record machine downtime and reasons.
* Record production quantities and wastage.
* Record batch numbers as required.
Housekeeping
* Maintain cleanliness of machines and surrounding work areas.
* Follow 5S workplace organization principles.
* Ensure all tools are returned after use.
Safety
* Comply with all company health and safety regulations.
* Wear required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
* Report unsafe conditions immediately.
* Participate in emergency drills and safety training.
Teamwork
* Work cooperatively with the Chief Operator, Quality Assurance personnel, Maintenance team, and other operators.
* Assist colleagues during breakdowns or high production periods.
* Participate in continuous improvement initiatives.

Qualifications
Education
* Minimum of OND, Technical Certificate, Trade Test, or equivalent in Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial, or related discipline.
Experience
* 1–3 years’ experience operating machinery in a bottled water production is required

Reporting Relationships
The Machine Operator reports directly to the Chief Operator. For quality-related matters, the operator shall cooperate fully with the Quality Assurance Department, which has authority to stop production where product quality or food safety is at risk.
