A. General Requirements
1. Nationality: You must be a Nigerian citizen by birth, as defined by the Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
2. Age Limit: General Applicants must be between 20 years and 32 years of age by 30th March 2026 while Medical Consultants, Specialist doctors may apply up to the age of 40 years.
3. Behaviour: Applicants must not have been convicted by any court of law. You must also not belong to any secret cult, organization, society, or fraternity.
B. Educational and Professional Qualifications: The DSSC is specifically for graduates. The following academic requirements are compulsory:
1. Degree: A minimum of First Degree with Second Class Upper Division or a Higher National Diploma (HND) with Upper Credit.
2. WAEC/SSCE Results: You must have at least 5 credit passes, including English Language and Mathematics, in not more than 2 sittings.
3. NYSC: A valid NYSC Discharge Certificate or an Exemption Certificate is mandatory at the time of application.
4. Professional Registration: For specialized fields (example, Medicine, Nursing, Law, Engineering), you must be duly registered with the relevant regulatory body/association (example MDCN, NMCN, NBA, COREN) and have a current practicing license.
C. Physical and Medical Requirements: The Nigerian Army requires high physical fitness levels. You will go through an extremely thorough and careful, medical screening.
1. Minimum Height: Minimum of 1.68 meters (5 feet 6inches) for males and 1.65 meters (5 feet 5 inches) for females.
2. Body Tattoos: Candidates must not have any tattoos or non-cultural bodily inscriptions.
3. Physical Fitness: You must be medically, mentally, and physically fit according to the standards of the Nigerian Armed Forces.
