📰 Tax Filing Season Starts 1 March 2026 – Employees Take Note 🇲🇾
The Inland Revenue Board (LHDN) has reminded taxpayers to submit their e-Filing and pay any outstanding taxes before the deadline to avoid penalties or legal action.
The 2025 Year of Assessment filing season officially begins on 1 March 2026.
⚠️ Late submission or unpaid taxes may result in:
• Penalties and fines
• Tax audits
• Travel restrictions
• Further legal action
LHDN also warned that submitting false information or fake documents could lead to heavy fines.
📌 Good News: Higher Tax Relief for 2025
Several tax relief amounts have been increased:
✔️ Additional relief for disabled children:
RM6,000 → RM8,000
✔️ Lifestyle (sports-related) relief:
RM500 → RM1,000
(Covers sports equipment, gym fees, competition fees & more — extended to spouse, children & parents)
✔️ Medical relief expanded to include parents and biological grandparents (up to RM8,000 per year, subject to conditions)
