CROM® is a specialist in the design and construction of prestressed concrete tanks and infrastructure restoration and repair. With over 65 years of experience, our continued success is driven by our self-performing skilled team with zero division of responsibility for our clients.
We are looking for a self-motivated Project Manager to work out of the Raleigh, NC office and support South East area to ensure each of their assigned projects are executed safely and efficiently. Project Managers at CROM are responsible for coordinating preconstruction efforts between drafting, engineering, purchasing, and risk management on each project. Once construction begins, the PM assists our Superintendents and field crews in ex*****on of the project.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
1. Develops a cost-effective plan and schedule for completion of projects following a logical pattern for utilization of resources.
2. Develop and deliver detailed project management documents including invoices, submittals, schedules, progress reports, and construction
change orders.
3. Effectively manage and communicate with field crews.
4. Delegate tasks and responsibilities to appropriate personnel.
5. Identify and resolve issues and conflicts with project team.
6. Plan, schedule, and track project timelines and milestones.
7. Manage changes in project scope.
8. Coach, mentor, motivate, and supervise project team members.
9. Build, develop, and grow business relationships with clients.
10. Inspection of prestressed composite tanks as well as other concrete structures including the development of a written report to
communicate these findings to the owner and others involved.
11. Draw conclusions from the information gathered and develop recommendations for repair will be required.
12. Procure jobs, estimate jobs and implement planning stage for upcoming job.
13. Directs Superintendent and crew on job site.
14. Influence hiring, firing, and disciplinary actions for field employees. Other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:
· B.S. Degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or 3-5 years of project management experience in the water/wastewater, infrastructure repair, and/or coatings industry or a combination of CCR Superintendent and field experience of 5-10 years.
· Proficiency n MS Word, Outlook and Excel.
· Valid Driver’s License, with a clean driving record and Insurance.
· Pass an extensive background check
· Must be able to work at different heights off of the ground
· Must be team player and able to work well with a diverse group of personnel
Other requirements:
· Basic understanding of typical construction materials and methods
· Strong written and oral communication skills
· Strong skills in scheduling submittals and document control
· Technically competent and proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
· Strong customer service and interpersonal skills
· Must be able to learn, understand, and apply new technologies
· Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high pressure environment
· A hands-on training period is required with this position for the individual to become familiar with the construction of prestressed concrete tanks and the use of repair materials and methods utilized for infrastructure repair.
Working Conditions:
The position requires the individual to be in the office as well as in the field. Travel is required to go to the job sites and overnight stays away from home will be necessary. While on site, the ability to move around a construction site is needed which may require climbing and working off the ground. Typical construction site conditions are expected to include loud noises as well as dust and the odors of construction materials being utilized.
